Düsselforf - A Part of Me

☀️ Catching summer vibes in Germany.

Being back in Germany gives me the opportunity to reflect. I can't necessarily say that Germany is the most beautiful country I know. In my opinion, South Africa has the world beat by miles in this category. But it is my birthplace, and where I was inspired to become the artist I am today.

Düsseldorf is the capital of the most populous German federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia (the federal state in which I was born), as well as the seventh-largest city in Germany.

I grew up in a small village about an hour from Düsseldorf, and lived in Düsseldorf from 2003-2005, before moving to South Africa.

Germany was the place where my love for drawing began, and South Africa was the place that inspired me to become the artist I am today. Neither country was mutually exclusive of the other in the role they played in inspiring me.
